Posted: Fri Mar 28, 2025 5:12 pm

- The San Andreas State Police (SASP) is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service. Our goal is to protect the citizens of San Andreas while maintaining public trust through transparency and accountability.
Filing a Complaint
If you believe an SASP employee has engaged in misconduct, you have the right to report your concerns. Complaints can be filed online, in person, or by mail, and every complaint will be reviewed thoroughly to determine the appropriate course of action.
- The Internal Affairs Division (IAD) is responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct, violations of department policy, and potential criminal behavior by members of the San Andreas State Police. The division operates independently under the oversight of the Professional Standards Bureau , ensuring that all investigations are fair, unbiased, and conducted with integrity.
The division’s primary responsibilities include:
Investigating allegations of policy violations, abuse of authority, corruption, or excessive force.
Reviewing complaints submitted by civilians, department personnel, and other agencies.
Maintaining transparency and accountability in all investigations.
All complaints, regardless of the rank or position of the employee involved, will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.
- Once a complaint is accepted, the Internal Affairs Division will conduct a comprehensive investigation to establish the facts.
What the Investigation Involves:
Interviewing involved parties, including officers, complainants, and witnesses.
Reviewing body-worn camera footage, reports, and relevant department records.
Examining physical evidence such as photographs, video recordings, and medical records.
Assessing compliance with SASP policies and applicable laws.
Case Resolution & Notification
- Investigations are typically concluded within 30 days, but complex cases may require additional time.
- Once the review is complete, the Internal Affairs Commanding Officer will determine an appropriate outcome.
- Complainants will receive formal notification regarding the status of their complaint.
Financial Compensation & Case Withdrawals
- If a complainant has suffered financial loss due to misconduct, they may be eligible for compensation if evidence (e.g., receipts for repairs) is provided.
- If a complainant chooses to withdraw their complaint, they will not be eligible for any compensation, even if misconduct is later confirmed.
- When filing a complaint, start by copying the provided format and pasting it into a private message in the email box. Carefully complete the form without altering the code. Once finished, add [SASP][PSB] IA to the email chain and ensure the report has a clear and relevant title. After submitting the report, wait for a response from an Internal Affairs agent, who will follow up with you via email regarding the case.
